Located in the Margaux Appellation of the Haut-Médoc, Château Kirwan is named after Irish businessman, Mark Kirwan. In 1926 the Schÿler family purchased the Third Growth and invested heavily in the property. Philippe Delfaut has been the managing director and winemaker of the 45 hectare estate since 2007. The key to Philippe Delfaut’s winemaking philosophy is to be as gentle as possible with the grapes in the vineyard and winery: from traditional hand sorting to modern gravity destemming, the grapes reach fermentation in perfect condition. The estate’s uses modern stainless steel and traditional French oak for ageing. 

This wine has scored an average of 92/100 from many well regarded critics.
