Château Lynch-Bages 2015 - Bordeaux, France
The property of Château Lynch-Bages in the village of Bages takes the other part of its name from Thomas Lynch, a Galway native and a Bordeaux merchant of Irish lineage who owned the property from 1749 to 1824. It was rated a fifth growth in the Bordeaux Classification of 1855 although the reputation of the property, now in the hands of the Cazes family, soared from 1945 after a string of excellent vintages.
At Lynch-Bages, although the key stages take place in the vineyard with Franck Debrais and his team, the utmost care and attention is given to all stages of the winemaking process, from the sorting of the grapes in the vineyard up until their fining in the calm and dimmed environment of the cellars.
The 2015 vintage has an average score of 94/100 from many well regarded critics.
